The Gospel
Ever since the fall of Adam and Eve (Genesis chapter 3), all of humanity has been stained by sin and unable to offer anything righteous to God in their thoughts and actions. It is only by one Man, the God-Man, Jesus Christ, who stepped down into His own creation, honoring the perfect will of the Father, accompanied by the Holy Spirit, lived a perfect life, with no trace of sin, who then atoned for our sins upon the cross. He then raised Himself on the 3rd day from His death to confirm He has accomplished this task. 2 Corinthians 5:21 lays out the double imputation which Christ offers to the wicked sinner who comes to repent and trust in Him alone for salvation. Christ takes our sin imputed to Him upon the cross and then imputes His righteousness to us. When the unbeliever becomes a believer, this act is called being born again, as described in John chapter 3. The Christian is able to repent of their sins and trust in Christ alone. The Christian then shows fruit of there converion by living a life accompanied by the Holy Spirit, who leads them to honor their Father in Heaven through Christ and His perfect work. The Christian is now at peace with God, honoring Him and gaining rewards, and is excited to see Christ face to face. They eagerly wait for Jesus Christ's physical return to judge all of humanity, the wicked and the righteous. The righteous (all who have been born again) will accompany God forever, while the wicked will be sent into the eternal fires of Hell, which is an eternal conscious torment that will never cease. The Gospel means “good news,” and such news is good, that God alone offers salvation through His message of Christ’s work to wicked humanity who deserve nothing of the sort, and yet God shows His grace and great love for His elect in that while we were His enemies, Christ would die for us. Why would you reject such good news?
Our Mission
Shepherd’s Gate Bible Church is just over a year 1/2 old and was started by several families with the dedication to glorify Christ in all of life. SGBC is dedicated to helping the church study and live by all of the Bible for all of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17). SGBC is committed to continuing on the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) until the Great Shepherd, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (John 10:1-10), returns to call His bride back home. We trust in the full sovereignty of God’s will (Ephesians 1:2-14) and the great power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:12-14). SGBC is all for restoring the family unit as God has intended and bringing family worship back into the home.
